Zimbabwe is a country in the Southern Africa Region. It is known for its amazing landscape and diversity in wildlife. It is home to the mighty Victoria Falls, The Great Zimbabwe ruins, Hwange National Park and lake Kariba. Formerly British colony called Rhodesia the country got its independence in 1980. Travellers have always come here for amazing safari holidays and an experience with African traditions and life style.

DAY 1: Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is one of the 7 wonders of The Natural World and World Heritage Site for Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Batoka gorge on which the waterfalls are lies on the Zambezi River, the forth biggest river in Africa. The Zambezi river flows throughout the year for 2 574km from its source in the North-West of Zambia to its mouth in the Indian ocean in Mozambique. By combination of depth and width the Victoria Falls is the biggest curtain of waterfalls in the World. The deepest part is 108 metres while the widdest part is 1700 metres. During high season the sound of the waterfalls is heard from distances 40km away.

Today we meet at 08h00 in the morning at Shearwater Explorers Village for a briefing with your Guide. Formal introductions take place here and an outline of the Tour and overview as read in your Tour notes and Itinerary is explained. There are a lot of activities to take part in Victoria Falls Town and guidelines on bookings will be spelt out by your Guide. However Top on the list to do are on our Activity List here. You have the visit to the Victoria Falls national Park as one one the Highlights for the day. The National Park opens from sunrise to sunset so you can arrange other activities and Things to do in Victoria Falls

DAY 2: Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park

Hwange National park is one of Zimbabwe's nature reserve. It has more than 400 species of birds, huge herds of elephants and buffaloes, scores of varieties of antelopes rangid from eland, kudus and impalas. Just outside the national park there is a rehabilitation centre for painted dogs.The park is 14,6 ha in area and in this dry region of Matebeland North province water is scarce. The dry resistant trees like Mopani/butterfly trees and mostly acaccia provide food and shadow to rest under from the scotching heat.

Today we start much earlier. After breakfast we leave Victoria Falls at 07h00.Shortly before 09h00 we arrive at the main camp and straight after head off for our full day game drive in 4x4 open vehicles. Lunch will be served on tour on a picnic sight somewhere in the Park. Water will be provided in on the Game drive although we encourage you to have some bottles as well.

DAY 3: Hwange National Park to Bulawayo

Bulawayo is Zimbabwe's biggest City and once the principal industrial area of Zimbabwe. It was incorporated as a town in 1897. The museum showcases the history and traditions of the Ndebele people who had lived here before the European settlers. The Tour will take you through the central Town where you will see some of the widdest streets in Africa. The Art Gallery and the Railway museum are some of the places you would be interested to visit.

Today we leave Hwange shortly after 09h00 in the morning as we drive to Bulawayo. On arrival we have lunch first before we go on an afternoon City of Bulawayo. We meet at dinner after sun set at was our accomodation in Hillside just 8 km from the cbd.

DAY 4: Bulawayo to Matopo National Park

Matopo National park is well known for the conservation of the white and black rhino, both species are endangered already. The national park has scores of other animals as well as birds although the hilly landscape makes it difficult to see further. There is also the grave site of Cecil John Rhodes, the architecture of the colony of Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. The warmthy and silence of the national park makes it more close to nature to anyone wanting to relax. The balancing rocks on the hills are a rare sight you can never have elsewhere in the World. In the company of a ranger you can walk on the park in search of the rhinos. We leave for Matopos by 09h00 and we have a whole day of funny here.

DAY 5: Great Zimbabwe Ruins

Masvingo is where the country name for Zimbabwe originates from. The Great Zimbabwe ruins once the great city of Monomotapa of the VaRozvi tribe was built in the 1100s and still stands today. The structure of the castle built by balancing rocks ontop of each other without mortar to cement them is still hard to believe it would stand the test of weather over 10 centuries now. Today we further drive through the countryside of Zimbabwe understanding the different settlement patterns of the communities who relie on peasant farming and mining.

After breakfast we leave Bulawayo for Masvingo

DAY 6: Masvingo to Victoria Falls

Today marks the end of an exciting adventure as we drive back to Victoria Falls. The day starts a little earlier to be able to drive safely. We will have a lunch break along the way. We expect to arrive in Victoria Falls after sunset. We have our last dinner together as we prepare for our the next advenrure.
